Fill, Edit, Compare, and Sign a PDF Without Printing

By Tabulyn

Use PDF Forms for existing interactive fields and Edit PDF for page changes or text placement. Sign PDF adds a visible signature image. Compare PDF shows corresponding pages and flags visual differences.

Find out whether the form is interactive

A page can look like a form without containing fillable fields. PDF Forms detects existing interactive fields. If none appear, the page may be a flat document or scan; use Edit PDF to place text, or obtain a fillable version from its author.

After filling a form, download and reopen it in a PDF reader. Check names, dates, checkboxes, long values, and any content near the edge of a field. Keep the unfilled original in case you need to start again.

Make visual edits with a clear purpose

Use the editor to add or change supported text, images, drawings, shapes, and annotations. Adding a text box is different from changing the original paragraph's structure. Review overlapping objects and check that your edits remain legible at normal reading size.

Page numbers help a recipient refer to a document. Add them after arranging the pages and avoid covering existing content. A text or logo watermark marks a file visibly, but does not prevent copying. Cropping changes visible page boundaries; it is not a way to remove sensitive content.

Know what a visible signature means

Sign PDF lets you draw a signature or upload an image and place it on a selected page. Check the destination page, position, and width before sharing the result. Keep the image private because other people could reuse a copy.

This tool does not provide certificate-based signing, identity verification, or an audit trail. Confirm the recipient's required signing method. If they require a certificate or a particular signing service, a signature image alone does not meet that technical requirement.

Compare versions before sending the final copy

Upload two PDF versions in a consistent order. Compare PDF produces a side-by-side report and marks pages with visual differences, including unmatched pages when page counts differ.

It does not produce a word-by-word change log. Font rendering or layout changes can flag a page even when the wording is unchanged. Inspect each flagged page, then open the final document itself to confirm the intended content and edits.
